Sarah Spoelstra grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota, located on the outskirts of the Black Hills, an estimated population of 61,459. While growing up there, she discovered her passion for the outdoors, ATVing, arts, crafts, and photography. She credits her folks with instilling her with a strong mid-western work ethic and ability and desire to do and create things. She’s studied photography, graphic design, and web design. She has worked for the likes of Pumpkin Masters, Scott’s Liquid Gold, and Sashco Inc.
Sarah and her handsome Dutchman of a husband live in Broomfield, CO, and enjoy playing with their two beautiful daughters, taking walks to Starbucks, trying new restaurants and recipes, tap dancing, going to the gym, home improvement projects, ATVing, hiking, traveling, and whatever else comes their way.

You name it and I’ve dabbled in here. From social media management, logo development, the design of packaging, point of purchase displays, sales promos, trade show graphics and booths, brochures, direct mail, sales and marketing support material, email blasts and newsletters, web banners, landing pages, WordPress site updates to even some video editing.

Covidien, Boulder, Colorado
Senior Graphic Designer, October 2007 – April 2008
Work at Covidien entailed mainly the production of packaging for FDA regulated medical devices in the respiratory and monitoring division. I worked directly with the plant in Juarez, Mexico to ensure proper reproduction of the packaging and print on demand pieces. Project management and attention to detail were essential skills for following the packaging throughout the approval process required by the FDA.

Special Projects
One of eight women teamed together to relaunch and revitalize the Alpha Hydrox line and work on the development of new products. Art direction of a photo shoot for Alpha Hydrox launch to be used in print.

PumpkinMasters, Denver, Colorado
Web & Graphic Designer, April 2002 – October 2004
Working for PumpkinMasters was one of the most fun experiences I’ve had to date. Projects consisted of production work for their generic product line packaging. Various conception and design of custom packaging for such companies as Disney®, Crate & Barrel, Williams Sonoma, and Bed, Bath, & Beyond. I supported other departments by creating trade show booth graphics, photographing product, and designing marketing and sales materials. And maintained and updated the company website.
Special Projects
Conception, design, and management of the production of the sales manual and product
Accomplishments
Reduced outside costs by introducing digital photography by acting as an in-house photographer, and developing the website in-house. Created a consistent updated look throughout the company by redesigning the generic line look, stationery, website, and marketing and sales materials.

Imperial Headwear, Denver, Colorado
Graphic Designer, November 2001 – April 2002
Designed logos that were embroidered onto baseball hats. Most logos were geared towards golf country clubs and resorts.
