Log & Timber WorX: A ROADMAP TO LOG HOME MAINTEANCE BROCHURE.
A Roadmap to Log Home Maintenance.
Log & Timber Worx came to me wanting to develop and design a printed that served as a log home maintenance roadmap for their customers.
The goal was to keep maintenance costs down and set realistic expectations for their customers.
Will explained, “There are ‘chutes and ladders’ to log home care. When you take care of your log home, you go up the ladder. When you don’t, you fall down the chute.”
The road map we developed includes a 60-month timeline.
- At 12 months, here’s what you’ll notice and what to look out for.
- 24 months down the road, you'll notice degradation of the clear coat
- At 48 months, water may stop beading on the surface of your stain.
- After 60 months, your stain will degrade and require maintenance.
The Design Inspiration
The inspiration for this piece was taken from the AAA TripTiks from the 1990s. When you went to AAA to plan your trip. (This was before the internet and MapQuest folks.) You could get your map customized to your road trip route, and as you drove, you'd flip through it.
