Pumpkin Masters Decorating Kits
For a spell, I worked for Pumpkin Masters in Denver, Colorado before it was sold to Signatures Brands. They specialized in seasonal products such as Pumpkin Carving Kits, Halloween Decorations and Easter Egg decorating kits. Their products were manufactured in China and then sold in various retail outlets such as the Disney Store, Wal-mart, Target, Michaels, and Bed, Bath & Beyond.
The World of Disney Pumpkin Carving Kit
Being a HUGE Disney fan myself, one of my favorite projects was working on the Disney® Halloween kits during my time at Pumpkin Masters. This kit was a tin that featured several characters from Pixar to Cinderella. I visited Walt Disney World in Florida in 2000 and used some of the graphics I had seen there as inspiration. I recreated the TinkerBell character and Disney logo since Disney didn’t provide artwork to us.
The Disney® Villians Pumpkin Carving Kit
This is by far one of my favorite projects to date. I created the dungeon in Illustrator and recreated the Villains graffiti typeface.
Kid’s Bed, Bath, & Beyond Custom Decorating Kit
This whimsical Kid’s Paint & Carve Kit was designed for Bed, Bath and Beyond. Kids taped the stencils to the pumpkin and then rolled paint over the stencil, leaving dots to cut out . Our product designer designed a kid-friendly saw. The blue background is textured with paint roller swirls.

In addition to kids’ kits, we also created adult kits. This one features Pumpkin Master’s iconic haunted house on it.

Disney Easter Egg Decorating Kit
During my time at Pumpkin, as we affectionately called it, we were constantly brainstorming line extensions and new product ideas. Easter seemed like a natural extension and we explored an Easter egg decorating kit with our client The Disney Store.
